Keanu Adjacent

It’s tough to watch Knock Knock (2014) and not question where this movie came from. It’s a movie I support in theory, but find hard to watch after the first half hour or so. But Knock Knock didn’t come out of nowhere; it’s a remake of a 1977 film called Death Game. Same with Sweet November (2001). Sweet November is an easy watch, but it’s got an odd plot for this era of romantic movies. But Sweet November also isn’t original; it is based on a 1968 film of the same name. When I was first going through the Keanu Reeves filmography, it was these two films in particular I wanted to seek out and watch, for the sake of comparison and curiosity.

Hence we have the collection of “Keanu Adjacent” films. It will start with Death Game and 1968’s Sweet November, but likely grow, according to whatever seems relevant at the time. And so, this wonderful website project really does never end (for me, thankfully).
